The best day

Today has been a truly magnificent day at the Lloyd residence. Matt got a promotion at work!!! For the first time in about 4 years he won't be doing sales. He has switched over the the account management department. We couldn't be more thrilled for this change. It will be so much less stressful for him and much better for us. Also, I found out at work today that for our 1 year anniversary coming up, MultiLing is giving me a gift card to the restaurant of my choice. What!?! If you know me well you know that I enjoy nothing more then a fancy dinner. Could this all really be happening in one day?? Other things we're looking forward to coming up in the next week....as I earlier mentioned it's our 1 year anniversary next Friday, everyone in Matt's family will be in Utah for Kevin's farewell (he leaves this Wednesday which is sad, but also exciting), we're leaving for California in Sunday for a much needed vacation with the Horsley clan. All in all, life is good. Lots of exciting things going on and it all started with a perfect Friday. :)

Camping

This weekend we went camping. We had dinner with Matt's parents and Grandma and then Matt and I spent the night. It was just the two of us and it was delightful!

We were spread out in a six man tent so we were quite comfortable. Matt even swept the tent out a couple times to make sure it was squeaky clean. He also brought his gun in case any bears came to attack us so I felt very safe. We spent the night telling scary stories (thanks Margaret Bird) and watching Batman. (Please note the bottom right picture above. Could my eyes be any smaller then Matt's?? A little embarrassing)

In the morning we found a field so I could shoot the gun for the first time. Let me tell you...it was definitely my last. I think my shoulder is permanently damaged. I must not be doing it right. It was a perfect, affordable getaway for us!! We will be back several times this summer...

Dallas, Texas

This weekend I went to Dallas with my family. My sister Maddie and her husband are moving there in September so we went to check out some apartments and the city. We were dazzled by the restaurant selection, fancy apartment complexes and a beautiful hotel.




The trip was very fun and we're excited for Maddie and Matt to move to such a cool place!

Favorite moments of the trip...

1. Because they are now charging to check a bag we all decided to take small enough suitcases to carry on. While waiting in the security line for about 5 minutes Pat suddenly realizes that she's missing her suitcase. Sweet Pat isn't used to carrying on her bag and had innocently left it at the check in counter. Luckily no one had noticed yet...
2. We went to get a quick lunch at a place called subs-n-stuff. As we walked in and started to look at the menu we noticed that it literally looked like it was raining back in the kitchen. I guess a water pipe had broken and was causing serious amounts of water to leak. We awkwardly ordered and ate while the employees frantically decided what to do.
3. Maddie's face while people showing us around the apartments kept telling us what a social community it was. (if you know her you'd understand, she's quite anti-social)
4. The bird pooping on Pat's head.
5. Our fabulous hotel.

It was a really fun trip!!

Welcome

We want to welcome baby Harrison Brian Kesler to the family. He was born Friday, May 8th and was 7 pounds 4 ounces. He's adorable, calm, and perfect. Congrats Brain, Dori, and Cole!! We're so excited about this lovely addition.

We want our mom's to know how much we love them! We appreciate you and no amount of words could express how grateful we are for all that you do for us!! You both deserved to have a wonderful, relaxing Mother's Day.
