Tagged

My cute friend Lisa tagged me. Here are 6 random facts about me.

The rules:

1. Link to person who has tagged you: Lisa
2. Post the rules on your blog
3. Write 6 random things about yourself
4. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog

1. I'm super weird. I have OCD and my house has to be in perfect condition at all times. I can't have anything on the floor in our bedroom. I can't ever have dishes in the sink. Nothing can be out of place. This gets the most annoying for Matt before we go to bed. I have to go around and straighten everything out....this usually takes an extra ten to twenty minutes before we can actually start our normal nightly routines. If I don't do this I won't be able to sleep unless I'm super super tired. Matt knew this about me before we got married, but I don't think he realized how bad it is and how psycho I really am about it. I think it has been a little hard for him (to say the least) to adjust to this quirky habit.

2. I want to have a baby! Is that weird? Don't worry....I'm going to wait. I think I would get pregnant tomorrow if Matt and I had enough money to actually take care of the thing. Also, it might be good to finish school. To sum up...we won't have kids for a long time because we can't afford it and many other reasons of course, but I'm SO excited for the day to come when we feel ready.

3. One of my favorite times of day is getting the mail. Everyday I convince myself that someone has written me a really important letter telling me how much I mean to them. Does it ever happen? No. Why I think that this letter will be in the mail everyday, I have no idea? I guess I'm a note person..I love writing people notes on special occasions. I love that Matt is this way also.

4. I've been keeping a day planner since I was in seventh grade. In the past I've just used the free ones they passed out at school. (the ones attached to your school directory) Since I've been in college, one of my favorite things at the beginning of the school year is to pick out a planner. Once one is selected and purchased I then spend HOURS filling it with birthdays, anniversaries, and draw a colorful picture on the days of each holiday. When I get my syllabuses at school, I fill in when every assignment is due for every class and when all the tests are. I have a different color for every class also, which makes each week look very colorful and fun. On our honeymoon, Matt and I were at the mall and I saw the perfect planner for this school year. It was only June, but knew it would be the one I wanted. It was also on sale for half off!! I was stoked. I then spent half a day filling in all of my birthdays and such things. Matt was a little peeved...it being our honeymoon and all. That was the only planner that I didn't immediately fill in every special event right after purchasing it.

5. I love scary movies. They are probably my favorite movies to go see and the ones I get most excited for. However, I would rather die in the parking lot then step inside a haunted house. Why do these scare me so much and scary movies don't at all? I ask myself that question all the time. Every year I attempt to go to a haunted house thinking I will have gotten over this weird quirk. Every year I then sit in the car and wait for the rest of my party to go through the haunted house without me. The scary men on stilts at the door haunt my dreams.

6. I LOVE LOVE LOVE being with family. I think I get most excited for nights when I know I can relax with Matt or when I know I'm going to see family members. I look forward to them all week. They get the color purple in my planner. (purple is my favorite color pen I own) That color is only assigned to things I am really excited about.

I tag: Marilee, Dru, Chelsea, Erin, Charlee

Happy Birthday!!

September is a big month for the Horsleys. My birthday is on the 18th, Pat's birthday is on the 23rd, and Wyatt's birthday is on the 26th.

I'm finally legal!! I can buy beer and get a library card all by myself. Matt made my birthday a very good day!! He normally leaves for school at 6:30 and got up on Thursday morning like it was any regular day. At 7:30 I woke up for work and walked out of our bedroom to find a decorated house and Matt singing happy birthday at the top of his lungs. He then gave me my first present...a cell phone!! He knows me well!! I love nothing more then a new cell phone and get one at least once a year. It's my weakness.

He then made me my favorite lunch...a tuna fish sandwich with sweet pickle relish.

Maddie and I work together. She showed up to work with french toast, strawberries, whipped cream, and orange juice. It was a FABULOUS birthday breakfast.

At work Matt text me and told me to look in my backpack. I found my second present....the movie Baby Mama. It is probably one of my favorite movies. I laugh about every five seconds while watching it. And yes, if you're wondering I had just barely woken up from a birthday nap in this picture.

That night we enjoyed a nice meal at Spaghetti Factory with Pat and Maddie. I know everyone thinks Spaghetti Factory is so white trash...but I love it. My birthday is the only chance I get to go there because no one can complain.

Later that night Matt had planned a surprise get together with his family, my family, and my friend Beth. It was also a fabulous surprise to have the Killpacks come over with cookies! Thanks guys!

It has been a wonderful birthday celebration!! Thanks everyone and Happy birthday Mom and Wyatt!!

Mondays

Monday has become my favorite day. The week can become pretty exhausting, and by Wednesday or Thursday I become Satan to everyone around me because I'm so tired and sick of going to work and school. I know people are a lot more busy then me out in the world, but I'm not used to being gone from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM everyday. I hate it!!! When Matt and I finally see each other at the end of the day, we eat dinner and go to bed. Our relationship is suffering! Monday is our lazy day....we both get done with everything by four! YAY! Monday is also wonderful because Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, and The Hills are on. All of my favorite shows..although I must admit I've become an instant 90210 fan. Trashy?? I think not. Anyways....this Monday was extra fun because Michelle and Beth came over. Well, Beth comes over every Monday which is super fun but it was great to have Michelle join us. Nothing could be better then pizza, cookies, diet coke, and some good gossip. Thanks for coming guys!!

Here is your first glimpse of Matt and I's wonderful house. You can see the pink walls and turquoise carpet in the background. We can't complain! We love it!! Stay tuned for more pictures of Grandmas...

Wedding Celebrations

Wedding parties have finally started for Dru!! It is so exciting....she's getting fabulous gifts and we all get to enjoy fabulous food and company.

This Sunday was the second week at our ward and we got our calling. We get to teach the seven year olds!! I'm really really excited...and Matt is not so excited but we're happy we get to teach together. We went to Pat and Rolfe's for dinner. They made fabulous food (see Erin's blog) and we had fun hot tubbing and doing our usual Sunday activities. It might not be the best idea to hot tub on Sundays but it's a tradition at the Horsley house.

Labor Day Fun

Labor Day weekend was filled with fun for us. Unfortunately, I forgot to take my camera to everything except our Friday night outing up American Fork Canyon with Matt's family. We had tin foil dinners and watched the boys do some fishing. It was a blast!

We also enjoyed boating, bowling, more fishing, and many other fun activities this weekend! Thank heavens for days off!!!
