Morning Kayaking

This morning before Matt had to go to work we went kayaking along the Charles River with our friends the Killpack's. It was so much fun!! We got a four person kayak so that we could all be together. We all know about my phobia with water so I was a little nervous to get in when Matt told me there were alligators in the river...but then I found out he was just lying and was able to relax and enjoy the ride.

We kayaked along the prettiest scenery. It reminded me of Monet's garden or something. As you can tell...I love everything about Boston. Everywhere we go I'm amazed at how gorgeous it is here!!
Matt picked me this flower from the lily pads we paddled along. They were so pretty and there were also tons of ducks and birds swimming in the river. Dreamy!! Thanks for inviting us Devin and Marilee!! It was a blast!!

Weekend Activities

Matt and I both get so excited for the weekend!! This weekend we continued to explore Boston. We went to Little Italy. This is the area near Paul Revere's house so that was cool...It also had BILLIONS of Italian restaurants. Wyatt, we wished you were with us so you could have helped us pick a good one. They all smelled so yummy and delicious and our friends went to one that was fabulous!! (They were nice enough to share some of their leftovers with us!)

During our wandering we went and found Fenway Park! There was a Red Sox/Yankees game last night so we thought it would be fun to try and get some tickets.
We never found tickets but were kind of glad because it was pouring rain!! Have any of you been watching the weather in this part of the world lately? It was been raining every day for the last week! It been kind of delightful when I'm inside and can listen to it...but quite miserable when we're walking around outside!

After a busy day of sight seeing we were excited to get on the subway and dry off a little bit as we headed home.

Yesterday while Matt and Steve were at work, Becca and I went to Harvard Square. It was SO cool!! I honestly felt like I was surrounded by celebrities! Such smart people walking within inches of me was such a rush.

It was a fabulous day!! I felt like I was very smart and classy for the entire afternoon!! Thanks Becca!!

Weekend Fun

This weekend marked a successful first month of marriage for Matt and I. We had a really fun weekend celebrating!! We went to Cheesecake Factory (thanks Devin and Mare for the gift certificate!) and then the next day we drove to Rhode Island. I loved it!!!! It was so so so beautiful. We went to this cute little town called Newport. It had a ton of cute boutiques and fun restaurants. We also went on this amazing cliff walk and saw a bunch of cool mansions that were brought over brick by brick from Europe and then rebuilt in Newport. Thanks so much Steve and Becca for letting us come along!!! It was probably both Matt and I's favorite thing we've done here so far!

These flowers were everywhere in Newport. Bright bright blue hydrangeas. These are my favorite flowers ever..but I've never seen ones that were literally blue. Maybe I'm just super out of it? I thought they usually had a periwinkle tint. I don't know, but they were really pretty!

This weekend was so much fun thanks to all of our great friends here in Boston!! We are glad we can hang out with them all of the time! Happy one month Matt! It's been the best!

Movie Marathon

Don't you worry...even in Boston I go see movies the second they come out. On Thursday night APX paid for our office to go to the midnight showing of Batman!! You can only imagine my excitement. 1) I love movies, and basically see everything that comes to theaters even if I don't think it looks that good. 2) Getting things for free when you're poor and married is like the best thing ever. and 3) It was actually a movie that Matt and I agreed that we really wanted to see and were going to splurge and spend money on. You can only imagine how wonderful it was to find out we were going to get to go for free.

I loved it!!!! Honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of these kind of movies. This one however was SO good. It helped to have Heath Ledger in it...I'm a huge fan of him. He is amazing in this movie. He totally steals the show I think. I highly recommend it.

Today us girls went to see Mamma Mia. It was a fun movie. We were laughing a lot!!! It, like Batman, has a great cast. No one beats Karen from Mean Girls. She's actually really cute in this movie.

I highly recommend both of these movies! Go see them if you get the chance!

Super Cuts

So yesterday Charlee wanted me and Becca to dye her hair dark. She's really blonde so we were super excited to see the change! We went and got a color at target and I put it on. When she had finished drying it we realized that I had completely missed a chunk of hair!! I felt so bad!! Luckily, the next day we went and bought another package of dye and let Becca apply it this time. Now it looks perfect and it's really pretty! Sorry I suck so bad Charlee.

Today we went and got our hair cut at super cuts. You bet. Becca had gone last week and her hair looked really good. Charlee wanted a trim and I wanted mine to be just a teeny bit shorter so we decided we were going to be really brave and test super cut's skills. I actually really like mine...I think. I haven't washed it yet, but it looks like it will be good and she did exactly what I asked! I know Pat is rolling her eyes as she reads this because she says I get my hair done more then anyone she knows and in this case, she's 100% correct. I just barely got it cut like three weeks ago but I think now it's a keeper...you all need to give super cuts a try. Only $14.95 for a cut!!

Blonde...and now brunette! It looks good Charlee!
(no thanks to me!)

Stay tuned for pictures of my super cuts hair cut...

Boston

So my first post literally took me about three hours to do..so I've kind of been dreading my second one. I'm sure it will just start getting easier and easier but until then I think they are kind of frustrating!!

Anyways, 2 days after Matt and I got back from our honeymoon we were off to Boston!! We will be living here for about six or seven weeks while Matt works for APX alarms. I think we did this more for me because I was dying to move to Boston. I think it's the coolest place ever and we've had a lot of fun since we've been here.

We took the red eye to get here and we were so excited to arrive only to discover that our four bags hadn't made it with us. We were super annoyed but the airline of course assured us that they would get to us later that day. That night we got a nice surprise..two of our suitcases! Of course they were the two filled with our household things (blankets, plates, cups, pans, bathroom stuff) so we couldn't change our clothes, but at least we could brush our teeth. The next morning I woke up to the airline calling my phone and was so excited when they said they were outside our apartment with bags. However, I was very disappointed when I opened the door and only saw Matt's bag sitting outside. So my clothes were still missing. I called the airline several times that day and finally talked to someone who said that they had no record of my bag ever being claimed as lost. It had arrived at the airport that morning but they couldn't deliver it to me without charging me a fee since I hadn't filed a lost bag claim. (which I most definitely had) I was so livid and so sick of not having clothes!! It was my first official confrontation. I refused to pay the fee and told them it was impossible for me to come pick up my bag at the airport since I didn't have a car. (kind of a lie, because I could have borrowed a car) They finally gave in and delivered my bag around 11:00 PM. I've never been so excited in my life. It was like Christmas.

Apart from the bag fiasco, Boston has been a blast!! Here are some things we've been up to since we've been here:

On July 10th it was Matt's 24th birthday! I felt a lot of pressure to make it a super good day since it was his first birthday being a married man. We got up and I made him breakfast (which I never do because he ALWAYS wakes up before me) and then we opened his presents. He got some shoes that he wanted from me and my family, and then i got him a watch and some church socks. After selling, we had all of our friends here over for pizza and scotcheroos.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT!!!

The next day was my sister Erin's birthday. Even though we were miles away we were thinking about you and hope you had a wonderful birthday!!

Happy Birthday Erin!!! We love and miss you!!!

So that's all we've done in Boston so far. We love it here and are so excited to explore the city more and more!
