Happy Anniversary

Last Friday we celebrated our 1 year anniversary. This first year has consisted of some fighting, adjusting, and learning about each other, but all in all it has been blissful. We've done many fun things together that have made this year very memorable such as: living in Boston, holidays, Grandma Gwen's, apartment hunting, vacations, teaching primary together, budgeting, date nights, trying to decorate our house, school, etc., etc.

As many couples do, Matt and I decided we would switch off planning our anniversary day so we were just responsible for it every other year. Matt volunteered to be in charge this year. He did such a good job and I have no idea how I'm going to top this!!
At 2 o'clock Matt showed up at my work with flowers. I was supposed to work until 2:30 but he had arranged for my sister Maddie to cover the front desk for me so I could leave early. We got in the car and he told me that he had packed our bags and we were spending the weekend in Park City!! I was already very excited about this surprise and didn't think it could get much better...but it did...then Matt told me that we were spending the afternoon shopping so I could get a brand new outfit to wear to our fancy dinner tonight on Main Street. What can I say? The man knows me well. My favorite day would consist of shopping, followed by a delicious dinner. Because Matt and I aren't millionaires, we mostly eat out at mediocre restaurants that don't cost much and NEVER buy clothes. This was a real treat!! We walked around Main Street shopping at all the little boutiques and then went to the outlets where I found an amazing shirt, skirt, and pair of sandals at J Crew. Matt was so fun to shop with and was well invested in finding me an outfit that I loved. After shopping, we enjoyed a FABULOUS dinner at Wahso. I highly recommend it! I felt quite guilty that the anniversary was completely centered around doing things that make me happy, but Matt was so nice to plan a day he knew I would love..and don't worry, I did get him a gift! I made a little calendar filled with our pictures that we can hang somewhere in our apartment.

How cute is Matt!?! You could tell he had taken so much time to plan out the whole day so it would be perfect. I could also tell that he had thought long and hard about what to pack me to make sure I wasn't missing anything I would need in Park City. The only thing he forgot was toothpaste! It was amazing. Every other girly thing I use was in the suitcase. This is the kind of person Matt is. He is always putting me first, taking into consideration every little thing he can do to make me happy. I'm so lucky to be married to such a wonderful man, and I love him very much. I know this is only the beginning of our adventures together...I can't wait to see what awaits us. Happy anniversary Matthew and thanks for such a memorable day!!
